Berlin to reward litter picking tourists with free attraction tickets

Berlin ranked as the fourth most sustainable metropolis in the world in the 2025 Global Destination Sustainability Index - (Visit Berlin/Oliver Lang)

Tourists visiting Berlin can now exchange sustainable behaviour for free attraction tickets in an initiative similar to that in Copenhagen.

From 14 May to 14 June 2026, Visit Berlin and the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises are piloting “BerlinPay”, a month-long campaign dedicated to sustainable water tourism.
