Berlin is taking precautionary measures to enhance security at the city's Christmas markets following an attack in Magdeburg on Friday evening. The city's Interior Minister, Iris Spranger, announced that the police presence will be increased as a response to the incident.
This decision comes in the wake of a similar attack that occurred eight years ago at a Christmas market in Berlin. During that incident, a hijacked truck crashed into a crowd, resulting in tragic consequences.
