A higher salary in Bengaluru may not necessarily leave professionals with more money at the end of the month, according to a comparison shared by a techie on Instagram. Sumit has argued that employees moving from Delhi, Noida or other parts of India to Bengaluru should calculate the impact of rent, commuting, food and frequent travel home before deciding whether a higher package actually offers a financial advantage.
In a video, Sumit used the example of professionals being offered better pay in Bengaluru and compared that income with the costs they could face after relocating. His argument was that a salary increase can be substantially offset by higher living expenses.

Why a bigger Bengaluru package may shrink savings
Sumit said professionals considering a move to Bengaluru should look beyond the headline salary figure and calculate their likely annual expenses.
“If you think in Bengaluru the salary is very good, then just hear me out. If you are living in Delhi, Noida or any other region of India part and you are thinking to move out from that region to Bengaluru for a good amount of salary, the salary is good there, but the cost of living is very high,” he said.
