KOLKATA: Bengaluru FC added another trophy to their already rich cabinet when they lifted the Durand Cup beating Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the final at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday.
In the battle between two former Indian Super League champions, Sivasakthi N put BFC in front in the 11th minute, only for Mumbai City to fight back to claim an equalizer through Apuia Ralte on the half-an-hour mark. But Brazilian defender Alan Costa rose to the occasion, heading home Sunil Chhetri’s corner in the 61st minute to seal the deal for Simon Grayson’s team from Karnataka’s capital.
