BENGALURU: A whopping 79% of respondents in a survey are in support of free bus travel, especially for targeted groups like women and students as they are far more dependent on public transport.
This was revealed in Greenpeace India’s latest report ‘Bustling Through Bengaluru’ released here on Friday.
“Two-thirds of respondents stated that either their travel time or waiting time has increased during the post Covid-19 period. Mainly women passengers who are more solely dependent on public transport (18%) expressed their apprehensions over the increase in the cost of travel after the pandemic,” it said.
