Bengaluru: 6 years to build railway station, 14 more months to operate it

BENGALURU : After it was sanctioned in 2015-16, South Western Railway (SWR) completed construction of the greenfield Sir MV Terminal, a world-class station that’s a model for the entire country, in about six years, although it was punctuated by delays.

However, the station remained unused for the next 14 months for want of formal inauguration. It is finally scheduled to become operational from Monday.
