The Cincinnati Bengals hosted two quarterbacks on workouts in the wake of Joe Burrow’s injury near the start of training camp.
Cincinnati signed one of those on the same day.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals intend to sign Reid Sinnett.
Sinnett, formerly of the Miami Dolphins and XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas, was undrafted in 2020 out of San Diego and spent some time on Miami’s active roster as emergency relief before seeking out the XFL.
That means the Bengals, including Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning, now have three names to take practice and preseason reps while Burrow recovers from his strained calf, which head coach Zac Taylor says will take “several” weeks.
The #Bengals plan to sign FA QB Reid Sinnett after today’s workout, source said. The former San Antonio Brahmas starter in the XFL, he most recently played for the #Dolphins in the NFL. He’ll help Cincy manage practice with the injury to Joe Burrow. It’ll be official tomorrow.
