Bengals sending WWII veteran to Super Bowl 58

A longtime Cincinnati Bengals season ticket holder will be going to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, courtesy of the Bengals according to Ashley Kirklen of WLWT5.

George Klopp Sr., a 97-year-old World War II veteran who lives in Dearborn County, said he still remembers his first Bengals game in 1968 when the Bengals first started in Cincinnati, an exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, Klopp has been to almost all of the games in Cincinnati.

His favorite memories as a Bengals fan are the Super Bowl teams in the 1980s and the 1981 Freezer Bowl, the AFC Championship against the San Diego Chargers, which was played in the coldest wind chill in history at negative 23 degrees. The Bengals won 27-7.

Klopp and his son will be in Las Vegas from the Friday before the game until the Monday after.
