Wednesday, Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated menacing stemming from an alleged incident this past January.
According to WCPO, the judge issued a $10,000 unsecured bond in the case. The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 180 days, $1000 and five years of probation.
The charge allege Mixon pointed a gun at a woman in a road rage incident on Second and Walnut streets at The Banks on January 21 hours before he was due at Paycor Stadium to travel with the team for its playoff game against the Bills.
Those charges were filed on February 2 before being dropped the next day. Police re-filed the charges on April 7, citing “discovery of new evidence.” Some involved with the initial filing were punished.
There is no word on when Mixon will next appear in court. From a football perspective, he showed up with most of the team on Monday for the offseason program and a recent report said the team still plans to ask him to take a pay cut or face being released.
