The new hair for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow earned him plenty of comparisons.
The obvious one was Eminem. But fans of other sports were quick to point to current top WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes, too.
Rhodes himself got word of this and shared a message for Burrow last week: “Time to finish your story this season @JoeyB”.
Burrow has now replied to the message, as seen in fan-recorded videos from training camp, giving a “story is never finished” answer while signing autographs.
Of course, the slogan for Rhodes was the narrative that culminated in him defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL in April to win the championship gold currently around his waist.
When fans — and Rhodes — use it to refer to Burrow, it’s describing his journey back from the wrist injury and the potential to lift the Bengals back to the Super Bowl.
