Bengals grab a new name for Joe Burrow’s offense in fresh mock draft

The Cincinnati Bengals get a familiar name and a new one in a fresh two-round NFL mock draft.

First up, the name most fans will recognize by now — the Bengals stick at No. 18 in the first round of the mock draft from Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy and take Alabama offensive lineman JC Latham: “The Bengals are in line to lose Jonah Williams but they upgrade here with former Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham.”

By now, the more interesting pick for fans might come in Round 2, where at No. 49 overall, they grab Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders.

Sanders, 6’4″ and 243 pounds, just caught 45 passes for 682 yards and two scores last season, averaging better than 15 yards per catch.

And while he isn’t projected as the best blocker, Sanders has been projected as a first-rounder in some mocks already.

His unique capabilities as an offensive weapon in the passing game might be what the Bengals seek out after years of relying on one-year pacts with veterans at a key spot.

And if this is the play that happens during the draft itself, it would probably register as a win in the draft grades department.
