Bengals get another horrible injury update right before kickoff vs. Steelers

The Cincinnati Bengals took one on the chin coming out of the bye with the news that starting defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins wouldn’t be able to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13.

And now an even worse injury update has surfaced before kickoff — according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, linebacker Logan Wilson is unlikely to play, too.

Wilson popped up with a knee injury this week and his absence would mean a heavier workload for Joe Bachie (if he can play) and potentially undrafted free agent Maema Njongmeta next to Germaine Pratt and Akeem Davis-Gaither.

So, in short, the Bengals could be down a key piece in the middle of the line, and the linebacker best suited to overcome such a loss, too.

It’s not exactly the type of news the Bengals wanted to see coming out of a bye before a cold AFC North game with the season on the line, but it sure seems to fit the theme of the season so far.
