Bengals Coach Zac Taylor Provides Update on Joe Burrow’s Injury

Star quarterback Joe Burrow exited the Bengals’ game on Thursday Night Football against the Ravens due to an injury and did not return.

After the game, coach Zac Taylor spoke to reporters and provided an update on Burrow’s status, indicating that the team believes its quarterback sustained a sprained right wrist.

“It looks like he sprained his wrist,” Taylor said via Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.

Taylor said that the information he had on the injury was limited, and said he had “no idea” regarding Burrow’s availability going forward.

Burrow exited the game during the second quarter and was taken to the medical tent. Shortly after, he was seen on the sideline trying to throw a football but was unable to, and visibly grimaced in pain. Burrow then went to the locker room and was replaced by backup Jake Browning.

Orr: Joe Burrow’s Wrist Injury Will Give Us a Chance to Really Learn About the Bengals

Burrow’s wrist had been the topic of discussion prior to kickoff, too, after a video, which was later aired on the Prime Video broadcast, appeared to show the quarterback wearing some sort of wrist brace while exiting the team bus before the game.

Burrow wasn’t on the injury report, and Taylor said after the game that he was not aware of any preexisting wrist injury, per NBC 5 Cincinnati’s Charlie Clifford.

The Bengals don’t play again until Sunday, Nov. 26, so Burrow will have a few extra days of rest before their next game.
