Ben Wallace says ministers will not be 'held to ransom' by unions amid NHS, Royal Mail and ambulance strikes

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has announced that the current Government will not be 'held to ransom' by waves of strikes in the public sector.

With more and more strikes taking place up and down the country, with no end in sight, Mr Wallace insisted that there is 'no magic wand' to create more money for above-inflation pay awards.

His stern warning came following accusations from Paul Nowak, TUC General Secretary, who said that ministers were 'sabotaging' efforts to resolve disputes between unions and employers.
