Ben Stokes 'is looking to come back' for second Test against Pakistan

NEW DELHI: England captain Ben Stokes appears prepared to rejoin the squad for the second cricket Test against Pakistan.

Due to his inability to recover from a torn hamstring suffered in August, Stokes was unable to participate in England's historic triumph in the first Test in Multan, which was completed on Friday.

Ollie Pope, who once again filled in as captain for Stokes, spoke with British network Sky Sports during the game to talk about which players will probably be in contention for the second Test, which begins in Multan on Tuesday and said Stokes "is looking to come back."

Pope grinned in response to a direct question about Stokes' availability for the second Test and said sheepishly: "I'm actually not 100%. He's been training really well this week. He's as keen as ever to get playing again, so fingers crossed he's all good."

Stokes participated in all three Test matches in England's 3-0 victory over the West Indies in July, but he was absent for the entire series when England defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 in August and September.
