Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard shared his appreciation for speed cameras and the part they play in reducing fast driving during today's (May 27) show.
Ben revealed his thoughts during a debate about 20mph speed cameras. The road safety measures are popping up across the country as part of a twenty is plenty drive and drivers are being caught out.. The topic caused a big debate on the show with one guest defending them and one against them.
However it was Ben's thoughts that stood out from the debate with the Tipping Point host revealing he has been on a speed awareness course. Ben did not go into detail as to the circumstances surrounding him doing the course.

He said: "We have all seen 20mph cameras come in, in residential areas. As a parent myself I totally understand.
"I have been on a speed awareness course as well and it really was stark the difference it makes. I have an absolute appreciation and respect for speed limits.
"The 20mph camera specifically - is this something that has just been put up as a money making ploy or is it indeed necessary."
In response broadcaster Edward Adoo responded he thinks they are a monkey making ploy. He said: "It is because when I am driving along at two in the morning after my DJ gigs and there is no one around, it's about common sense.
"During the day if it's in crowded areas then it's got to be addressed where there has to be something to bring the speed down." Donnachadh McCarthy who is the co-founder of 'Stop Killing Cyclists' disagreed with the broadcaster.
He said: "The idea that we have no enforced 20mph zones is a disgrace. Five times more people will be killed at 30 rather than 20.
"Why have the police not enforced that now. This is good news for families and this is good news for kids."
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV One and the ITV Hub.
