Alberto Dainese bounced back from stomach problems to win stage 17 of the Giro d’Italia in a dramatic photo sprint-finish.
Dainese, who has battled with illness over the last few days, held off the fast approaching Jonathan Milan by a tyre’s width in Caorle with Michael Matthews a couple of inches further back.
With no mountain stages today, Irishman Ben Healy retains the blue jersey. With 164 points to his name, Healy remains 20 points in front of Italian Davide Bais in the race to be crowned King of the Mountains.
