Ben Affleck has revealed how he really feels about being the topic of his wife Jennifer Lopez's songs.
The triple threat performer has penned quite a few songs about Affleck over the years, notably Dear Ben in 2002 and Dear Ben Part 2 released this year.
Now in a new interview on the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the Oscar winner said he’s honoured to have inspired “the greatest performer in the history of the world’s” music.
He shared: “The songs that have been written about me have been written by the greatest performer in the history of the world, Jennifer Lopez.
“I don’t know if they are exactly about me, as maybe inspired by me because there are some negative things in there. She’s amazing.”
The Hollywood stars were initially engaged in 2002 before calling it quits in 2004.
However, they rekindled their romance in 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2022, 18 years after calling off their original wedding. They finally married last July in Las Vegas.
During the podcast, the Air director also praised Lopez’s many achievements and said her successes don’t make him feel any less.
He continued: “It takes a big man not to feel inadequate in the face of my wife’s many, many accomplishments. I don’t feel bad about myself.”
Affleck’s latest comments come days after he poured praise on Lopez during the LA premiere of his new film, Air.
Taking to the stage at the cinematic event, Affleck, who directed and stars in the film, thanked the movie’s cast and crew for their help in making the feature, especially his pal Matt Damon who plays sports marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro in it.
Yet, it was his outpouring of love towards his new wife Lopez that captured the audience’s attention as he claimed that the film wouldn’t have been anything without her “love and support”.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck shared: “And I want to say that none of it would be possible – this company, this movie, this joy tonight – without the love and support of my wife who means more to me than anything in the world.
“I want to say thank you. I love you. You mean the world to me. You’re fabulous, you’re amazing, you’re wonderful, good, kind, magnificent and I love you.”
