Beloved NBC reporter and veteran pilot killed after news helicopter plunges from sky

  • Two of the three victims killed in an NBC4 Los Angeles news helicopter crash in Chatsworth on Tuesday evening have been identified as pilot George Marciniw and reporter Eliana Moreno.
  • The helicopter crashed into a parking lot and burst into flames, leaving a third person on the ground dead and two others hospitalized.
  • The news crew was covering an earlier fatal collision involving a passenger vehicle and a Los Angeles Metro bus when the aircraft went down.
  • Moreno, who reported for both NBC4 and Telemundo 52, and Marciniw, a veteran flight instructor with more than 14,000 flying hours, received heartfelt tributes from colleagues.
  • NBC4 and Telemundo 52 released a joint statement expressing deep sadness and extending condolences to the families, friends, and coworkers of those who lost their lives.
