A much-loved Edinburgh retail store closed suddenly after the company went into administration.
First founded in Edinburgh in 1898, the family-owned Wilkies had 11 branches stretching across Scotland. However, the shop in Morningside suddenly announced its closure along with four others after the clothing company fell into administration.
A number of shops were saved following a sale of the business and certain assets out of administration but five, including Edinburgh's Morningside branch, were not included.
