DUBLIN – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official Bellator 291 fighter weigh-ins, where all but one fighter hit their marks.
Among those weighing in were welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov (26-0 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) and interim champ Logan Storley (14-1 MMA, 9-1 BMMA), who meet in a main event rematch title unification fight. Amosov is responsible for the only loss of Storley’s career – a split decision in November 2020. Both titleholders came in under the championship max of 170 pounds and were 169.4 each on the scale.
Only one fighter missed weight. Leonardo Sinis (11-5-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), who took his fight with Ciaran Clarke (6-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) on short notice, missed the mark for a fight that already was set to be a 147.5-pound catchweight bout. The fight currently remains on the lineup, and Sinis will be fined a percentage of his purse.
The weigh-ins took place at the Bellator host hotel in Dublin. The nearby 3Arena hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
