Bella Hadid claims it was ‘anxiety’ not tight corset that made her ‘black out’ at Met Gala

Bella Hadid claims it was ‘anxiety’ not her tight corset that made her ‘black out’ at the Met Gala.

The 25-year-old supermodel looked stunning in a custom-made creation from Burberry designer Riccardo Tisci, rocking a leather corset, lace tights and a flowing skirt, with her hair in tumbling waves around her shoulders.

However, she told Interview magazine that she had “so much anxiety” on the red carpet at the prestigious fashion bash in New York, and had “blacked out”.

Bella said she “couldn’t breathe”, and said there was a lot going on that made her feel unwell.

“I literally like, blacked out. I don't even think I got one good photo on the red carpet,” she explained, admitting she “ran up the stairs” after less than five minutes on the red carpet.

“I don't think I was out there for more than three minutes. I don't know if that was my anxiety, or maybe the waist was giving cinch and I couldn't breathe. I mean, there were probably a lot of things happening,” Bella added.

However, she faced backlash from some of her fans on social media, who became concerned, and the model decided to clear up any confusion with a post on Instagram.

“I want to make something very clear.... This is not at all what I (meant to) say. I didn't say I blacked out because of my corset,” she said on her Stories, insisting that it was a joke.

“I joked that I blacked out, not because of my corset, but from the regular anxieties and excitement of the carpet,” Bella added.

She also said she didn’t black out, but instead had felt disconnected from the red carpet because it went by too quickly.

“I meant more like it goes by in a flash. So quickly that ya barely remember it! I should have said that,” she shared.

Bella clarified yet again that it wasn’t her corset that caused her problems, and said the designer piece was so comfortable, she could even eat while at the bash.

“And corsets in general are pretty uncomfortable/hard on the lungs but my corset fit perfectly with enough room to eat and drink!!,” she added.
