A Peculiar Tea was created by Chef Gemma Austin as an escape from reality and the stresses of adult life.
The website states she is “known to her friends as a female Peter Pan”, she loves to use food to make her guests feel a sense of nostalgia and playfulness.
Here is what the Michelin Guide had to say:
"Chef-owner Gemma Austin believes food should be fun and changes the theme of the evening tasting menu at this restaurant – tagline ‘The Emporium of Imagination’ – every 8-10 weeks: think Cluedo, Harry Potter or Alice in Wonderland.
"The cheery staff are all clearly on board with this quirky concept."
