Belfast Live has a history of being a news outlet for everyone in Northern Ireland. As a result we have been nominated as the most supportive media outlet for the LGBTQ+ community by the GNI Awards.
The public nominated us for the award because of our support for the LGBTQ+ community. Now, we would love your vote to support us. You can VOTE HERE.
We have worked tirelessly to support and celebrate marginalised parts of our community. We have written hundreds of stories over the years to raise awareness for LGBTQ+ issues and news.
Here are some of the most recent stories we have covered:
- NI film Just Johnny selected for global LGBTQIA+ campaign
- NI actor on writing new play to inspire more LGBTQIA+ representation in the industry
- Brianna Ghey - Hundreds at Belfast, Derry and Dublin vigils
- West Belfast bookshop, café and barbers set up to provide safe space for LGBT+ community
- Emotive memorial sees tree planted for LGBTQ+ activist Mark Ashton from Portrush
- NI mum opens up about coming out as gay after having her son
Belfast same-sex couple's joy at welcoming triplets after previous heartbreak
We couldn't list them all but you can see a few more here. We will continue to shine a light on the LGBTQ+ community and support in every way we can.
Don't forget to give us a vote here. Votes will close on Tuesday 4th April at 12noon, so please be quick.
