Belfast's oldest library is collecting family stories of Second World War for an exciting digital archive project. The Linen Hall is working with Their Finest Hour, led by the University of Oxford and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The history project aims to build a powerful collection of objects, artefacts and personal stories from the Second World War. It will illustrate stories from different aspects of life during the war to provide an insight into life at the time.
People are being asked to bring diaries, letters, photographs, memoirs, objects, or stories about their family’s experience in the war. They will be recorded and added to the online archive.

This exciting project aligns with our mission to preserve and promote cultural heritage, ensuring that future generations can gain a profound understanding of the wartime experiences that shaped our history.
"It is an opportunity for people to contribute to a collective memory that will endure for years to come."
