Belfast court told burglar was caught after his mother spotted him in police appeal

A 42-year old man whose mother contacted police after seeing her son’s image on a Facebook appeal concerning a burglary was jailed on Monday.

Dean Nesbitt was handed an 18-month sentence which was divided equally between nine months in jail followed by nine months on licence.

He appeared at Belfast Crown Court remotely from prison and was sentenced by Judge Paul Ramsey on a single charge of burglary committed on October 6, 2021.
