Beeston neighbours fed up of rubbish dumped outside house since Christmas

Fed up neighbours have voiced their frustration over a house in Beeston that's had rubbish piling up outside since Christmas. A large amount of rubbish can be seen dumped outside of a property on King Street, between the wall segregating it from the pavement and the front door.

Neighbours have said work started on renovating the property in August last year, and it will be a HMO (house in multiple occupation) for students, which it was before. But they've noticed rubbish piling up there since before Christmas, and some rubbish has already been taken away at their request.

It's been reported to Broxtowe Borough Council. And the rubbish itself has caused damage to some vehicles of one of the neighbours, it has been claimed.

Sarah Parsons, 46, who works in property management and lives next door, said: "My car has had a puncture from a bit of rubbish from that, as have 3 mobility scooters used by my parents which are stored in the garage. I know it was caused by that rubbish as they've been from things like carpet gripper rods.

"It's cost so much to fix. There has been rubbish flowing across our drive at times, but to be fair whenever we've said about that, it has been moved.

"If people were already living in there, it would be easier to make a complaint. But as it's still being done up, that could be tricky."

The neighbour on the other side of the property said he has raised it with the local authority, Broxtowe Borough Council. Adam Blakey, 24, a Mathematics PhD student at University of Nottingham, said: "It's not great, it doesn't smell but it is sore on the eye.

It's been there a while and rubbish has been piling up. "I reported it to the council. Work's been going on there since around August time, and it's been quite noisy.

It would be nice for the rubbish to be gone." Stewart Buxton, 20, a Physics student at University of Nottingham who was passing by and lives locally, said: "It's quite high, isn't it?

I don't know what's going on, but that can't be nice to live near." Broxtowe Borough Council has confirmed the issue has been reported to them.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "The council can confirm that it is a privately owned property. "The issue was reported to us on March 21.
