Bedminster North Street: The Bristol area 'most-popular' with Gen Zs and Millennials

With more and more people moving to the city, the question of where the best place to live in Bristol for young people has been something many often wonder. Millennials or Gen-zs often have the criteria of wanting to live somewhere you can get out and socialise with friends or is close to the shops for when you need a little retail therapy.

Thinking about these criteria, we too wondered what area of Bristol had the best options for going out that didn’t involve going into the centre and being a Gen Z myself I settled for North Street. With a mix of independent shops and big chain stores, the street offers a variety of things to go and do.

So here is my list of the best venues to visit in the suburb:

The most prolific establishment on the road is easily the Tobacco Factory which is described as “a multi-purpose building that houses a lively Cafe Bar, farm shop and a Sunday market, as well as meeting spaces, offices for creative businesses and a performing arts school.” This venue really does have it all and is the perfect place for those who love art and culture - something the city is known for.

Eating and drinking out is also a favourite pastime of the younger generation and North Street really doesn’t disappoint with the option it provides and everyone is catered for.

Those wanting to head out for a relaxed coffee, North Street is home to coffee shop Sweven, one of Bristolians’ favourite according to a Reddit. This cute independent coffee shop has had rave reviews and is the perfect place for a relaxed coffee with friends. Other independent coffee shops on the street include Albatross Café, Farahway Arts and Crafts Café and Tincan Coffee Company.

And there are a host of venues for night time drinkers as well. Those who love beer have got to head down to either the Old Bookshop or Bristol Beer Factory which serves beer made here in Bristol. Or if you’re looking for something a little more wine or spirit-related you can head to KASK Wine or Spirited.

North Street really does have everything you could want from food places, to shops to a centre for arts and crafts, young people moving to the city for the lifestyle would really fit in here.
