Bedford train sped up past red signal warning before fatal crash, investigators say

A train involved in a fatal crash with another train in Bedfordshire continued to speed up after acknowledging a red light signal, investigators have found.

Shaun Burton, 60, died when the East Midlands Railway (EMR) train he was driving hit the back of a stationary train run by the same operator near Elstow on 19 June.
