Brit Award-winning singer Becky Hill made a surprise arrival in the Love Island villa last night, and the Islanders were thrilled to discover that they have some company.
The day after Jacques O’Neill’s exit from Love Island, the islanders were in for a party on Tuesday night’s episode, with the arrival of singing popstar Becky Hill.
The news of Becky’s performance was announced earlier this week, with fans expressing their excitement on Twitter.
While the contestants such as Gemma Owen, Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu and Luca Bish were left in shock from Jacques’ departure, their spirits were lifted by Becky’s surprise performance.
Here’s everything you need to know about the star.
Who is Becky Hill?
Becky, born Rebecca Claire Hill in Bewdley, England, is 28 years old.
Her career as a singer first took off when she was a teenager, as she received recognition and support from the BBC Introducing with her band the Shaking Trees.
Her big break came with an appearance on The Voice UK 10 years ago, after completing the first season of the competition in 2012. After offering renditions of the John Legend track Ordinary People, Jessie J and will.i.am both voted for her.
Despite not winning the series, her career went from strength-to-strength, after she scored a number one with her 2014 song Gecko (Overdrive), and this year she won two Brit Award nominations.
In January this year, Becky announced that she was engaged to her longtime partner Charlie Gardner, writing on Instagram: ‘Turns out he actually does like me.’
Why was she on Love Island and what did she do?
On Tuesday night’s episode, Becky Hill made a special appearance in the Villa for the Islanders, as the Brit Award-winning singer took to the stage for a high-energy performance by the pool.
The islanders were thrilled by the chance to let off steam following the Casa Amor recoupling, and the arrival of 2018 Islander Adam Colllard, as well as the new bombshell and departure of Jacques O’Neill.
They were seen dancing the night away on the ITV dating contest after Becky’s arrival was teased at the very beginning of Tuesday’s episode (June 13).
But many fans were unimpressed that their favourite show wasn’t extended for more drama in the famous villa. Others complained that it was being ‘dragged out.’
