Beauty subscription service Birchbox has gone bust, and is no longer fulfilling orders or shipping subscription boxes.
The company was a pioneer in beauty sampling, allowing members to try a variety of samples of different beauty products. The business model was recreated by a variety other similar businesses and services.
The business began to falter during lockdown, and was eventually sold in 2021, with one of the founders and CEO Katia Beauchamp exiting the business. Before going bust it had approximately 122,000 subscribers in the UK.
