Manchester United's supporters lauded Antony after he netted a stunner to fire the Reds into a first-half lead against Charlton Athletic in their Carabao Cup quarter-final showdown at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
After making much of the early running down the opposite flank through Alejandro Garnacho, who got plenty of joy running at Addicks defender Sean Clare, United got their noses in front via some magic from the other side. Antony cut inside onto his favoured left foot and bent home a stunning effort into the top corner to bag his second goal in as many matches.
The winger, who joined United from Ajax during the summer, scored the opening goal in United's 3-1 FA Cup win over Everton last Friday evening. Whereas his goal against the Toffees was a straightforward finish from close quarters, his effort against the League One side, who were backed by almost 10,000 supporters, was anything but.

It had shades of the goal he scored during United's 6-3 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium back in October, where he came in off the right-wing and curled a sumptuous left-footed effort past Ederson. It was a stunning effort and one that any goalkeeper in the world would have struggled to keep out.
