Beautiful litter of stray puppies rescued from ditch struggling to find forever families

A beautiful litter of stray puppies rescued from a ditch in Greece are struggling to find homes after receiving “very little interest” the past three months.

Their heavily pregnant mum, Bella, was abandoned on the Greek island of Lesvos and gave birth to the eight Greek shepherd mix puppies in a ditch.

Luckily, the family were found and rescued within a few days, and became available for adoption on Wild at Heart Foundation in November.

Though the global rescue foundation has had “very little interest in them since then”, with no applications at all for puppies Senor, Sylvester and Saturn.

We’ve profiled all eight precious brothers and sisters below.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a little Greek puppy, please get in touch with Wild at Heart Foundation .

Sonata

Sonata is absolutely full of beans and always the last to tire (WAHF)

Sonata in three words: Boisterous love bug

Sonata is the true comedian amongst her siblings. She has a quirky personality and is always the first to initiate zoomies around the shelter, in the hopes of being chased - which is her favourite pastime.

Sonata is absolutely full of beans and even when her siblings have collapsed for a nap, she is the last to tire.

There is no doubt she will need an active family with plenty of engaging walks, playtime and stimulation throughout the day.

Her future owners must also be dedicated to those all important puppy training sessions, as she will need to learn a few boundaries and puppy manners within the home.

Find out more about Sonata.

Sandy

Sandy is often known as the peacekeeper amongst her rambunctious siblings (WAHF)

Sandy in three words: Everyone’s best friend

Sandy is a sweet and gentle girl and is often known as the peacekeeper amongst her rambunctious siblings.

Although her gentle nature should not be mistaken, because she can still run and jump as fast and high as her energetic brothers and sisters.

When she isn’t joining in on the rough and tumble, Sandy enjoys chewing on almost anything she can find, or cuddling up to her foster carer.

She is a very loving and loyal girl, and will need a committed family as full of love as she is.

Find out more about Sandy.

Senor

Senor loves to run around and is often adorably clumsy when doing so (WAHF)

Senor in three words: Sporty, cuddly, clever

Senor is a happy pup who is always up for fun. He loves to run around and is often quite adorably clumsy when doing so.

There is one activity that Senor takes very seriously and that is chasing his ball. When he has exerted all of his energy, Senor is content snuggling up for a belly rub - before gearing up for more playing.

He will suit an active family who have plenty of time for games and extensive walks.

Like all siblings that tell each other off from time to time, Senor is often found amongst the riff. However, he is responsible and will not persist, but adopters should make sure he has positive introductions with new dogs.

Sailor

Charming Sailor loves to run around with his siblings and often steals everyone’s toys (WAHF)

Sailor in three words: Tiny heart thief

Although Sailor is the smallest of his siblings, what he lacks for in size he certainly makes up for in confidence, feistiness and cuddliness.

He loves to run around with his brothers and sisters in each or twigs and often steals everyone’s toys, but no one seems to mind - charming Sailor is so very easy to forgive.

Sailor has been known to be a little needy and may need a little help learning to become more independent when he is settled in his new home.

Due to his potential breed mix (like all of the litter), Sailor may grow to become protective of his favourite things so is ideally looking for adopters with experience of these behaviours.

Souvlaki

Souvlaki has an abunadance of energy and so much love to give (WAHF)

Souvlaki in three words: Clumsy love bug

Souvlaki is a very cuddly puppy but also has quite the clumsy side. He can become over eager to cuddle, kiss and lick his foster carer’s face and ears.

However, this is all in good nature as Souvlaki just has so much love to give.

Souvlaki is a pup who doesn’t realise his own size and takes great pleasure in jumping - but hasn’t yet learned how to land safely on all four paws, and it often makes him the comedian out of his siblings.

He has an abundance of energy and his adopters must be sure to give him plenty of ways to release steam.

Souvlaki was born without a tail, however this doesn’t cause him any issues and he is still as happy as can be.

Find out more about Souvlaki.

Sylvester

Sylvester is an easy-going chap who gets along well with everyone he meets (WAHF)

Sylvester in three words: A busy boy

Sylvester is described as a little joy to have around. He has a very playful nature and his favourite pastime is zooming around in search of a ball or stick.

He is an easy-going chap who gets along well with everyone he meets, including the other resident dogs at the shelter.

Occasionally, Sylvester will stop for a cuddle and kiss, but is soon back to running around and chasing his sibling Sonata

Sylvester will need a family who have plenty of time to keep this active boy busy and of course, a few of those all important puppy training sessions.

With a few tasty snacks in hand, Sylvester should be raring to go.

Find out more about Sylvester.

Saturn

Saturn loves cuddles so much that he fell asleep on his foster carer's face (WAHF)

Saturn in three words: Big cuddle bug

Saturn is a very sweet and cuddly boy who just wants to be around his favourite people at all times, even to the extent of sleeping on his foster carer’s face.

He is very persistent when he knows what he wants and does not like being left alone.

With this in mind, he will need adopters who are mostly orientated at home and are willing to help him learn that being on his own doesn’t have to be scary.

Saturn enjoys playing with his siblings, even if he keeps bugging them to play when they are tired.

Saturn was born with a bob tail, but this doesn’t cause him any issues at all.

Find out more about Saturn.

Sleepy

Sleepy is a sweetheart and lives up to his name, being a lazy bones at heart (WAHF)

Sleepy in three words: Loyal, lazy, gentle

Sleepy is a busy boy and although he will sometimes cuddle, he much prefers exploring the shelter in search of some brilliant smells.

He also has a playful side and enjoys wandering around saying hello to all the other dogs, before laying down for a big relax.

He is a sweetheart with humans and lives up to his name, being a lazy bones at heart.

Sleepy may grow to become protective of his family and home, so experienced adopters familiar with this characteristic would be beneficial.
