A teenage girl has died after her e-scooter collided with a van on Monday afternoon.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to reports of the crash on Green Street in Upton Park, Newham, east London, at around 1.35pm.
London Ambulance Service paramedics attempted to treat the girl, who police believe was aged 14, but she died of her injuries.
The Met is investigating the incident and the van driver is with police, but he has not been arrested.
The girl's next of kin have been informed, the Met added.
Eyewitnesses said the girl was riding an electric scooter when she was hit by a minivan, the Evening Standard reported.
One grieving woman wrote online: "Oh my princess I’m gonna miss you forever our beautiful girl."

Locals reportedly performed CPR on the girl before paramedics took her to hospital.
Road closures are in place around the scene.
Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with information to contact 101.
Between 2018 and 2021 there were 638 recorded e-scooter collisions in London, with the figure rising from eight in 2018 to 341 in 2021.
Lambeth was the borough with the highest number of e-scooter crashes last year, with 21, while Kingston-upon-Thames was the only borough not to record a single e-scooter collision.
Three people were killed across London riding the mode of electrified transport last year and 98 more were badly hurt.
