NSW homicide detectives have charged former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon with more offences in relation to an alleged double murder.
Police confirmed late on Tuesday that Lamarre-Condon was charged last week with two counts of domestic violence-related murder, and breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence in relation to the deaths of Luke Davies and Jessie Baird.
The domestic violence-related murder charges are expected to replace the two counts of murder he has already been charged with.
Police allege the attack in February was premeditated after a months-long campaign of “predatory behaviour” targeting Baird, with whom he had a prior casual relationship.
Lamarre-Condon, 29, is due to appear at the Downing Centre local court on 13 August.
A court heard last month that prosecutors required more time to prepare their case against him.
His lawyer, John Walford, said outside court after the June appearance that it was also too early to tell if a mental health defence would be raised or whether the matter would go to trial.
The couple’s bodies were found on 27 February inside surfboard bags at the fence line of a rural property near Goulburn, about 200km south-west of Sydney.
Lamarre-Condon was sacked from the NSW police force in mid-March.
