Beat The Chasers star clarifies Bradley Walsh's 'brutal' Patrick Swayze question after complaints from viewers

Paul Sinha has cleared up any confusion around a "brutal" Patrick Swayze question he was asked by Bradley Walsh on Beat The Chasers after stunning fans when he got it wrong.

Many viewers believed he had got his question right and took to Twitter to complain when host Bradley announced Paul had got the question wrong, reports The Mirror. The last hopeful of the night, Steven, managed to beat The Chasers by choosing the option of taking three of them on for a chance to win the £25,000 prize pot, but fans were left puzzled as Bradley branded Paul's answer as incorrect.

"What Patrick Swayze film became a West End musical..." Bradley said, to which Paul buzzed in and answered: "Dirty Dancing!"

However, Bradley then told Paul his answer was incorrect, and in fact, the answer was Ghost, leaving The Chasers visibly shocked.

One fan on Twitter said: "How come Dirty Dancing wasn’t right?! #BeatTheChasers," and another added: "Dirty Dancing is definitely a musical though? #BeatTheChasers."

A third added: "The Patrick Swayze question isn’t that dirty dancing? #BeatTheChasers."

Paul also took to Twitter to clear up any misunderstanding and explained that Bradley had not finished asking the question before he buzzed in to give his answer. This meant he missed the last part of the question specifying the date of the Patrick Swayze musical.

He Tweeted: "That was episode 1. When we're chasing the game, mistakes are made. But that Dirty Dancing/Ghost call was brutal. Just to clarify, the swayze q hadn't finished."

Beat The Chasers also had a new face on the show as Australian Chaser Issa Schultz stepped in for Anne Hegerty as she tested positive for Covid at the time of filming. Nicknamed The Supernerd Issa was born in Cornwall and joined fellow UK chasers Mark Labbett, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, Shaun Wallace, and Darragh Ennis on the show. You can read more about Issa here.
