The Beartown Brewery has paid tribute to last week’s viral smash Big Jet TV by getting straight into the lab to brew a new beer.
Big Jet TV saw its viewership soar last week, as the YouTube channel gained traction for its live stream of jets landing in the windy weather at Heathrow.
The channel, run by aviation enthusiast Jerry Dyer, saw up to 200,000 people tuning in at one point on Friday, including a host of celebrities.
Richard Osman, Greg James, Dan Walker and writer Caitlin Moran, all of whom command huge followings on social media, were among those championing the footage.
And now Congleton-based brewery Beartown has jumped on the hype wagon, brewing the beer, ‘a stormy pale’ ale called Eunice and emblazoned with the Big Jet TV logo.
Joseph Manning, managing director of Beartown Brewery said: “What a day, what a storm, and what a time to be alive to watch that epic broadcast from Big Jet TV.
“We’d like to dedicate this special can of pale ale to the absolute heroic nature of keeping the nation gripped.
"Nothing has united us more than watching those jets land safely, so cheers to you Big Jet TV.”
The brewery has been running since 1994 and its name is a reference to Congleton’s nickname which was so given after it reputedly sold its town bible to buy a bear in the 1600s.
It has its own tap room and exports its beer all over the world.
