Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi is interviewing for the Cardinals defensive coordinator job on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Borgonzi joined Matt Eberflus’ coaching staff last offseason, and Borgonzi was one of a few coaches he took with him from the Colts.
Borgonzi boasts 17 years of coaching experience, including 12 years at the NFL level. Before joining the Bears last offseason, Borgonzi spent four years as the Colts linebackers coach with Eberflus in Indianapolis. Before that, Borgonzi was a defensive quality control coach with the Buccaneers (2014-17). He got his start with the Cowboys in 2011, where he worked as both a defensive and offensive assistant.

During his tenure as linebacker coach — whether with the Bears or Colts — Borgonzi has worked with some of the best in the NFL in Roquan Smith and Shaquille Leonard. He also coached one of Chicago’s most pleasant surprises last season in undrafted rookie Jack Sanborn, who thrived in his six starts after Smith was traded to the Ravens.
