The Chicago Bears hosted former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard for a visit Friday at Halas Hall, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Byard spent his first seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the trade deadline last October.
Byard, a former third round pick, was a star with the Titans, including two All-Pro stints in 2017 and 2021. In 120 games, including 111 starts, Byard totaled 627 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 27 interceptions, 63 passbreakups, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 4.0 sacks and two defensive touchdowns.
In 10 games with the Eagles, Byard totaled 75 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups in 2023.

The Bears are in the market for a free safety following Eddie Jackson’s release earlier this offseason. There will be no shortage of options in a loaded free agent market, and they’re already wasting no time doing their homework on the available veterans.
