New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is assembling his coaching staff. But there’s no hire more important than that of the offensive coordinator, who will be entrusted to develop quarterback Justin Fields and run the offense.
The Bears officially announced the hiring of Packers passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy as their new offensive coordinator.
Getsy has spent his entire pro coaching career with the Packers, serving in a variety of roles on the offensive side of the ball. He joined the organization in 2014 as a quality control coach. From there, he’s coached the wide receivers and quarterbacks before being elevated to the passing game coordinator in 2020.
We have hired Luke Getsy as our offensive coordinator.
Welcome to Chicago, Luke! 🐻⬇️

Eberflus is targeting Colts safeties coach Alan Williams as defensive coordinator. He’s also bringing two more assistants with him from Indianapolis in linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi and cornerbacks coach James Rowe.
With Josh McDaniels hired as the new Raiders head coach, that frees up Rich Bisaccia to perhaps serve as the Bears’ special teams coordinator. Eberflus was reported to be targeting Bisaccia for that role.
