Did that first half really just happen? The Chicago Bears looked like a brand-new team during the first half of their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders. Chicago is pouring it on, leading 27-3 at the half.
The Bears started hot to open the game and didn’t let up. Quarterback Justin Fields went 12-of-20 for 189 yards and three touchdowns. It was the second game in a row where he threw for three scores after his outing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. D.J. Moore accounted for 137 of those yards and two scores as he torched Washington’s defense.
Buy Bears TicketsSpeaking of defense, the Bears front four finally turned up the heat and made life difficult for Sam Howell. They held the Commanders offense to just three points and got a pick late in the second quarter. It was all Bears for the first 30 minutes.
Naturally, fans were loving it and couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Here’s how fans reacted on social media.

It's a beautiful night for the Bears so far as they lead by 24 and have dominated this game completely.
.
They've taken out 11 months of frustration – especially the last month – out on the Commanders tonight.

I mean… this is the offense a lot of #Bears fans envisioned to start the year. Still can’t figure out what the first 3, weeks was about 🤷🏻♂️. Let’s see if they can finish it out in the second half. pic.twitter.com/MZxofVAfJQ

Bears offensive line dominating this Washington front was not on the bingo card but it’s occurring. Rivera seat getting so hot with his defenses performance

I know this isn't a great team, but I am getting excited by what I'm seeing from Luke Getsy and Justin Fields the last couple of weeks.
Who is this team?#DaBears

I think I might be all the way back in on Fields. It’s happening. I feel it in my body like I’m the Incredible Hulk and my only super power is walking around telling people Fields is the Guy.

When was the last time you heard an announcer say the Chicago Bears were dominating the line of scrimmage?
2018?
