The Chicago Bears are trading the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers, according to multiple NFL insiders.
The Bears are landing a massive haul from the Panthers, including multiple first-round picks and a big-name wide receiver in DJ Moore. According to Adam Schefter, the Bears are getting Carolina’s first (9) and second (61) round picks in 2023, as well as a first rounder in 2024 and a second rounder in 2025.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles indicated that a trade could be coming before free agency, and now we know why. Chicago acquires a top tier wide receiver in Moore for quarterback Justin Fields.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, “the Bears wanted Moore and to know they had him before free agency.”

This is a big-time move for Poles, who is able to get an absolute haul for the first overall pick as he looks to retool the league’s worst roster from last season.
Now, Chicago has 10 picks in the 2023 draft, including ninth overall, as well as an additional first rounder in 2024 and second rounder in 2025.
