D’Andre Swift is returning to the NFC North.
Swift and the Chicago Bears on Monday agreed to terms on a three-year contract worth a potential $24 million moments after the NFL’s legal tampering period opened at noon ET, according to multiple reports. The pact contains $15.3 million in guaranteed money.
Swift, 25, spent the 2023 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, enjoying a career year behind the team’s stellar offensive line. He rushed for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games while earning a Pro Bowl selection for the first time in his career.
The Philadelphia native was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft and spent the first three seasons of his career in Detroit, where he flashed immense potential but also dealt with myriad injuries.
Now entering his prime, Swift is expected to anchor a Bears rushing attack that ranked second in the league with 2,399 rushing yards in 2023 but didn’t feature a single rusher with over 1,000 yards.
Swift has compiled 2,729 rushing yards and 1,412 receiving yards as a pro. He also boasts 31 career touchdowns.
