Yannick Ngakoue, one of the top remaining NFL free agents on the market, has signed a one year deal with the Bears, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday night.
“The top available defensive free agent, DE Yannick Ngakoue, is signing a one-year, $10.5 million deal, including $10 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears,” tweeted Schefter.
The veteran, who played with the Colts last season, has recorded at least eight sacks since entering the NFL back in 2016.
Ngakoue joins a Chicago defensive front that added former Titans lineman DeMarcus Walker on a three-year, $21 million deal in free agency.
The Bears defense, which collected a league-worst 20 sacks as a team last season, will look to the savvy veteran to help improve their pass rush.
The 28-year-old standout has posted an impressive 65 sacks in 110 career games after spending time with the Jaguars, Vikings, Raiders and Colts.
