Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has reopened its Bristol office following a major refurbishment.
The firm said the workspace at Bridgewater House, off Counterslip, where it has been located since 2012, was remodelled to support its new approach to flexible working.
According to BDO, the office has been designed with a focus on employee wellbeing and includes more collaborative working areas and state-of-the-art technology to support hybrid meetings and multi-locational events.
David Brookes, head of BDO in the South West, said the company's approach to working patterns would mean its staff were now able to choose where to work from week-to-week.
"For most this will likely be a mixture of office work, remote working from home and some visits to client sites," he said.
“We believe that a positive working environment enhances wellbeing and productivity. The new Bristol space has been designed with this in mind and includes more areas to work collaboratively and a fresh, modern appearance that make it a really enjoyable place to work and meet with colleagues and clients."
Since moving to the region in 2005, BDO’s headcount in the South West has increased to almost 250 people, including 13 partners. In the last six months alone the firm has taken on 27 new trainees, including graduates and school-leaver apprentices.
Looking ahead to 2022, Mr Brookes said the new office would support BDO's growth plans; the firm is looking to hire more staff this year, including 30 new trainees in the region.
“I am delighted to be fully re-opening our newly remodelled office here in Bristol," he added.
"Having increased headcount by more than 50% in the last five years, we are looking forward to watching our team and our expertise continue to grow and support the increasingly complex needs of our clients.”
