BBC Waterloo Road: Start date, time and full cast including Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders stars

Almost eight years after it was axed, Waterloo Road is returning for its revival series - and there's not long to wait now. The BBC 's popular school based drama ran from 2006 to 2015 before being taken off air, much to many fans' disappointment.

In September 2021, BBC bosses announced that the drama, which is filmed and set in Greater Manchester, would be making its much anticipated return with a revised series featuring some original cast members and famous faces joining the show for the first time.

The reboot of the award-winning series will be back on screen on Tuesday, January 3 at 8pm to 9pm on BBC One with episodes airing on TV each week and the full series available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Series 11 will see Waterloo Road’s teachers, pupils and parents navigate through topical issues from teen homelessness to the cost of living, being LGBTQ+, racism, sexism, mental health and everything else facing young teens today.

As ever, there are friendships, fallouts and romances along the way as well as some shock twists and turns with riots, scandals and fractured families facing Waterloo Road's staff and pupils.

Here are the full cast you can expect to see appearing on screen this series, including some old and new faces:
