Fans of BBC’s The Traitors were excited to learn of faithful contestant Maddy’s acting career during last night’s episode. Maddy, a care home receptionist and actor, has split fans with her wild theories and accusations.
She has even nicknamed herself Maddy Marple as she’s so sure of her own claims. But fans were thrilled to learn that her claim of being an actress is 100% true.
Claudia Winkleman’s gripping game show has kept fans on edge with its exciting cliffhanger endings and contestant theories. Maddy has got quite the name for herself after consistently accusing both Aaron, a faithful contestant, and Wilf, a traitor.

As she tried to explain her theory, which has fans confused from the start, Maddy claimed that thanks to her acting career, she can spot a liar. “I feel like I can spot when someone is putting on a performance,” she reasoned.
In the segment, she revealed that she had played a character called Rita in EastEnders, a homeless woman. She also played Jasmine, a woman without a womb, in the medical drama Casualty.
Fans couldn’t contain their excitement at the news. One said: “Nah sorry Maddy is THE camp icon we need and deserve, I’m obsessed #TheTraitors”
“You’re genius and none of them are seeing it,” one person wrote on Maddy’s Instagram page.
Another said: “Maddy Marple is #TheTraitors spin-off we all deserve. Big Jessica Fletcher energy.”
As episodes of The Traitors close in on the final, fans are wondering if Maddy will make it to the end. Or has Maddy Marple said too much to make it past the traitors?
Off the back of The Traitors’ mega success, there are rumours that a second series is already in the works, with host Claudia Winkleman expected to return, too. The BBC reportedly has struck a deal with Studio Lambert so that The Traitors can return for another run next year following its climactic debut last month.
Speaking to The Daily Record, a source said that the choice to commission a second series was a “no-brainer” given its popularity. “The Traitors has become a big hit after just a few weeks,” the insider said.
“It was a no-brainer to commission another series,” they added. “Everyone is hoping it will be even more popular by next year and become one of the biggest shows on TV.”
