Viewers may be sat in shock after hearing that The One Show, which usually airs on BBC One at 7pm Monday through to Friday only, will be broadcasting on Saturday, May 13, at 7.30pm.
That's right. The typically weeknight show will be adding a sixth programme to its schedule for a very special reason. If you haven't been watching this week, the show has been taking place in Liverpool in a studio right next to the M&S Arena where the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is happening, to provide viewers with all the details, interviews and behind the scenes footage from the event.
The contest is being hosted by the UK for the first time since 1998 on behalf of Ukraine amid the ongoing war in the country with Russia and the grand final will see both the 2022 winner, Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra and runner up Sam Ryder performing at the mass event. And so, as the Grand Final looms, it seems only natural for The One Show to present one more show from the city ahead of the final showcase, in which the winner of Eurovision 2023 will be determined.

Announcing this schedule shake up, Alex told viewers at home on this evening's show, which aired on BBC One at 7pm on Friday, May 12: "Now, we are going to be back tomorrow."
"But that's a Saturday!" her co-host Rylan Clark - who was commentating the singing event with Scott Mills earlier this week for the semi-finals - exclaimed.
"I know," replied Alex, while Rylan retorted jokingly: "What is going on!"
"Yes," Alex continued, "we are officially the curtain raiser for the grand final of the biggest song contest on earth."
Rylan added: "Indeed, we are going to be right here on BBC One by your side with some Eurovision icons from 7:30pm counting down to that grand final. Until then, night night."
The One Show will then be returning to normal, airing on Monday, May 15 at 7pm.
The BBC's coverage of the Grand Final of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest will then commence following The One Show at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer until late - typically midnight.
