BBC The Graham Norton Show: Daniel Craig's marriage to famous actress he met at university

Daniel Craig is one of the most recognisable actors of our generation.

Born in Chester in 1968, Daniel grew up in Hoylake, Wirral, before acquiring a catalogue of credits and accolades to his name.

He attended Hilbre High School and was a keen sportsman, playing rugby for his school and for Hoylake RUFC.

But from an early age, Daniel made his mark as an actor and he spent much of his youth hanging around the Everyman Theatre and trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

From there he went on to National Theatre Studio, where he met his current wife Rachel Weisz.

According to MyLondon, they were both performing in the same play - Les Grandes Horizontales.

But it was nearly 20 years later, on the set of the 2011 thriller, Dream House, that their paths crossed again and they found love.

Rachel wasn’t keen on marriage at first but the actress told The Standard in 2018, Daniel had turned her beliefs upside down and changed her mind.

She said: "I never thought I would get married.

“It was not an ambition of mine. It was the opposite. I couldn’t relate to romantic comedies, marriage seems to be the whole point of them.

“Then it just happened, happily, at a more mature moment.”

The actor changed her outlook so much, in fact, that she couldn’t be happier as a bride.

She said: "I wear my ring with pride, I’m taken."

She added in an interview with The New York Times: “I’m very happy being married, very, very happy. I love being Mrs. Craig.

“I’m Mrs. Craig on my cheque books and passports and things.”

Another major priority is their daughter, Grace, whom they welcomed in April 2018.
