BBC The Apprentice in Wales: How to visit Zip World and how much it costs

The Apprentice is taking the 2022 candidates to Wales for their next tourism task.

So far the BBC One programme has seen this year's contestants board a cruise ship in Portsmouth, negotiate fishy waters in Cornwall, develop an original video game concept, create non-alcoholic drink and a toothbrush.

The latest challenge, however, will see those remaining get an adventurous brief to boost Welsh tourism.

Teasing the episode, Karren Brady explained: "We do a tourism task for Wales which involved Europe's longest zip wire and I am terrified of heights.

"I had to go down it and I was scared but I can tell you I was not as scared as the candidates who were screaming their heads off in fear." You can read more on what Karren said here.

A preview clip for the instalment showcases adventure giant Zip World, but where is it and what can you do there? Here's everything you need to know.

Zip World in North Wales has zip sites in Blaenau Ffestiniog and Bethesda.

In scenes set to air on Thursday, February 10, The Apprentice candidatesvisit the one located in Llechwedd quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

There you'll find five adventure activities including Titan 2, a zip wire over one kilometre-long, and a Deep Mine Tour.

According to the website, the zip wire tour offers "stunning views of the quarry below and Blaenau Ffestiniog with Snowdonia beyond", while the deep mine sees visitors submerged 500ft.

In 2021 the zip wire, which was already Europe's first four-person zip line, evolved to become an exhilarating tour and zip experience with a truck tour and double zip line descent.

Meanwhile, the Deep Mine Tour will allow you to soak in Llechwedd's fascinating past.

A description on the website reads: "Head aboard our underground train on Europe's steepest cable railway and learn all about this iconic mine’s 16 underground levels – including where the famous Llechwedd Cheese is matured, and the 8 underwater layers."

Titan 2 costs £60 per person while the Deep Mine Tour starts at £60 for up to four people and £80 for up to six.
